Meet the team…
After studying Law I worked as a Trust Administrator at Lloyd’s Bank in the City. I then worked in IT as a Programmer and Systems Analyst with IBM for 6 years– great experience for the attention to detail required for Estate Planning! My main career was 20 years with Citibank, culminating with management of all 40,000 PC’s and software for Europe, enabling me to be very comfortable with modern technology. Between 2000 and 2018 I have been a Lecturer to the NHS on Retirement Planning, Estate Planning and Will Writing, writing over 500 Wills, Trusts and LPA’s. I bring this wealth of experience with me to every Fielding Triggs client.
I was in property for 10 years and then moved into Legal Services in 2011, initially as a probate consultant and more latterly, Will Writing.
I really enjoy explaining the estate administration process, inheritance tax, trusts and Wills to clients in an easy and understandable way, including providing highly technical and administrative product information.
I grew up in Liverpool with the ambition of becoming a footballer. Due to injury I did the next best thing and became an accountant.
I specialised in Personal Taxation as well as Trust Accounts and Taxation in independent and top 10 firms in the UK. After twenty-two years of experience helping people to save money and taxes, as well as administering their estate once they died, it was the perfect next step to help people protect their estates and ensure their assets can pass to their family.
As an Estate Planner I utilise my knowledge and experience to help people protect their Estates to pass onto their loved ones with minimum fuss, maximum protection and minimum taxes.
I started my career in banking. I then moved into welfare benefits and debt advice. I also worked as a mortgage advisor for about ten years. Holistic financial planning advice is important to my clients and I moved into Estate Planning.
I worked with Coop Legal Services as a probate consultant before specialising in Estate Planning.
I really love Estate Planning and believe passionately in the benefits. I love to help my clients plan ahead. It is a truly rewarding job.
Ive been married to Cheryl for 25 years, we have 4 children and 4 grandchildren, I am a Norfolk boy born and bred and living in Great Yarmouth, I have been working in the financial services sector since 1996 working different roles for several blue chip companies.
I strongly believe in diligent and robust estate planning for everybody, because I have seen first-hand the sad consequences and heartbreak if the correct plans are not in place.
Away from work I enjoy reading, my main passion is angling, I’m a member of a fishing club and most Sundays throughout the year I will be sitting on a bank somewhere.
Having qualified as a financial adviser in 1988, I spent 7 years advising clients in all areas of financial planning before concentrating on the Mortgage market from 1995.
Holder of the financial planning certificate, Certificate of Mortgage Advice and Practice an now qualified as a full member of the Institute of professional will writers, I have specialised in Will Writing and Estate Planning since 2009.
I believe my all round experience in financial planning is a wonderful addition to my knowledge of estate planning, there is no situation too complex, my aim being to help people feel at ease in ensuring their affairs are in order.
After leaving school, I studied Law at Warwick University. My first job out of law school was as a Legal Administrator for a Housing Association, before making the jump into Will Writing and Estate Planning after getting married.
I qualified as a member of the Institute of Professional Will Writers, and worked as the Wills and Administration Manager for SmartWills for a year, learning the skills and intricacies required to be an Estate Planner.
I am now looking forward to my new role as Estate Planning Co-Ordinator with Fielding Triggs, and all of the new challenges it will bring.
